| Description: |
| Permanent Value Fund has these Principles & Investment Aims:
1. I avoid all situations where you risk permanent loss of money. (Excluding short term quotational movements).
2. I will attempt to purchase you the highest per-share earnings I can reasonably estimate will accrue to your money over the next 10 years for every dollar you have invested.
3. I will invest within my area of competance which is narrow but large enough. I do not focus on any particular section of the market when looking for good ideas.
4. I will keep costs low by minimising trading.
5. I have no particular time frame for how long I hold any security and forever is the preferred time frame. I will divest a security when doing so will result in an exchange of greater value.
6. The stockmarket is a pari mutuel system and is therefore a public forum for the exchange of capital and transfer of value. On behalf of my investors, my job is to allocate capital so that my investors receive far more value than the capital they exchange. By getting this correct a great majority of the time my investors will become far wealthier relative to the average market participant. Achieveing this goal will demonstrate I have done my job well.
8. Any and all monetary compensations I may receive are only a by-product of managing my investors funds rationally.
9. Some principles when selecting a fund manager. Choose someone who is prepared to "eat their own cooking" and a fund structure that rewards a managers outperformance and penalises underperformance, aka Ben Graham and Warren Buffett.
p.s. "I eat my own cooking"... for the small group of followers... Paul, Don, Peter, Susanne, Peter, Rita, Geoff, Rebecca, Bruce, Nigel... I hold stocks in my personal account that are in this hypothetical M100 fund portfolio. |
