Manager:
berria |
Inception:
Nov 10, 2003 |
| Description: |
| This is a "value" fund, in that it will generally shun high PEG stocks (defined as year-forward P/Es divided by the expected 5-yr EPS growth rate). Exceptions to this will usually involve deep-cyclical stocks that happen to be at a trough in their earnings cycle (and have very high P/Es). In other words, the portfolio manager will often calculate P/Es based on "normal" profit margins to help decide if a stock is expensive or not.
There is no sector focus.
Although stocks with good long-term prospects are sought, this fund may hold positions for a short period of time (as little as a month). The expected average holding period will be six months (200% annual turnover), though this could vary depending on market conditions.
As of the fund's inception on November 10, 2003, only one stock will be added: Kerr McGee (KMG), which is a natural gas play.
The fund manager does not see much value in the current market--with energy (oil and gas) being one of the few possible attractive sectors.
The sell discipline is loose. No target prices are set. The holdings will be continually monitered according to the laws of "opportunity cost." |
