| HOW
THE MANAGER INVESTS |
| WHAT
IS YOUR INVESTING STRATEGY? (GROWTH, VALUE, TECHNICAL ANALYSIS, ETC.) |
|
answer --> |
value, dividends, lower risk, bottom up and top down approach looking at overall asset allocation, as well as actively managing individual equities. Currently modifying portfolio towards 65% equity, 20% income, 10% REITS and 5% commodities. Non correlating assets classes will reduce volatility over the long run. I'm having to be patient as my various models have nonstellar years when my income components don't do well then suddenly find comfort when the market goes sour and I end up with a stable cushion. Keep an eye on SGAGX...5 year returns now approaching 20% annualised...could be a long term core strategy. I have never aimed for stellar high volatility funds and returns..I would much prefer stable growth over the long term...that consistency will be rewarded in time
|
| HOW
DO YOU SELECT NEW COMPANIES FOR YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
earnings growth year-on year, p/s, dividends, positive profit margins, a balanced approach to diversification and risk management using a quant model for risk reduction. Ideally I'd use curve analysis and regression but not enouh time to number crunch while I work on my doctorate
|
| HOW
DO YOU DECIDE TO REMOVE A STOCK FROM YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
static growth, dividend cut, price ratios beyond my criteria for holding a stock, legal problems, missing earnings forecasts, political leagal industry regulatoryissues
