| HOW
THE MANAGER INVESTS |
| WHAT
IS YOUR INVESTING STRATEGY? (GROWTH, VALUE, TECHNICAL ANALYSIS, ETC.) |
|
answer --> |
I invest in stocks that are undervalued. I believe in the classic principles of Benjamin Graham. But I also look for good sectors to invest in. Over the past six years, I have been successful in identifying precious metals and oil and natural gas as good sectors to be in. I'm also fond of biotech and women's clothing.
|
| HOW
DO YOU SELECT NEW COMPANIES FOR YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
When I come across a company I like, I buy. It's not just happenstance, it involves reading the financial statements and news releases and trying to figure out what the company is about.
|
| HOW
DO YOU DECIDE TO REMOVE A STOCK FROM YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
I'm not as good at selling as I am at buying. Ideally you should buy a stock when it's undervalued or a contrarian investment and then sell it when it's properly valued or no longer a contrarian investment.
The above is, of course, easier said than done, but I certainly do not believe in the philosophy that you should hold stocks forever. I'd be extraordinarily happy if I bought a stock today and sold it next week at a 50% profit.
