| HOW
THE MANAGER INVESTS |
| WHAT
IS YOUR INVESTING STRATEGY? (GROWTH, VALUE, TECHNICAL ANALYSIS, ETC.) |
|
answer --> |
The DMX Mutual Fund uses a growth at a reasonable price investment strategy. It seeks out firms that the market appears to have mispriced based on company trends primarily in earnings, sales, and cash flow, and the relationship of these variables to their historical and future growth rates.
|
| HOW
DO YOU SELECT NEW COMPANIES FOR YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
I basically use a growth at a reasonable price approach. Presently I look at the financials of companies and company news. I look for stocks that are selling at fat earnings yeilds relative to the average stock, and have a market price at a large discount to next years estimated earnings times next the companies anticipated earnings growth rate. I check to see whether a companies multiples for cash flow, earnings, free cash flow and sales are less than their 5 year average multiples. I like to see a strong return on assets and less than average industry debt. Additionally, I like an epeg of less than 1, and the lower towards .5, or less,the better. I look at the trend in quarterly sales and earnings for the last 2 years, and like to see Q over Q and Y over Y acccelerating increases. I like stocks that do not issue shares to support growth or grow by acquisitions, that have a strong cash flow from operations, and that generate a good and consistent free cash flow. I am starting to do industry analysis with a view to selecting stocks that have excellent competitive positions within their industries. My selection critera tend to change as my understanding grows.
|
| HOW
DO YOU DECIDE TO REMOVE A STOCK FROM YOUR FUNDS? |
|
answer --> |
I sell stocks if news changes my understanding of a companies prospects. I will sell a stock to buy a better one. I am toying with using a -15% from initial purchase price or -25% from past high sell discipline. My sell discipline is not well defined at this point.
