HOW THE MANAGER INVESTS
WHAT IS YOUR INVESTING STRATEGY? (GROWTH, VALUE, TECHNICAL ANALYSIS, ETC.)
answer --> Deep value.
HOW DO YOU SELECT NEW COMPANIES FOR YOUR FUNDS?
answer --> I find candidates from stock screens and news screens. Then review the SEC filings. I invest primarily based on financial criteria and my preferred investments are companies trading at a discount to liquidation value. Often one good investment will lead me others. Similar companies are like a colony of lepers that nobody wants to touch.
HOW DO YOU DECIDE TO REMOVE A STOCK FROM YOUR FUNDS?
answer --> I sell quickly for a lot of reasons. The M-ocracy system penalizes high turnover (takes time to fill orders and 5 cent commission is a high % of the value of low-priced stocks), but it's still the strategy that has worked best for me. I sell if a stock has made the gain I expected. I sell if the reason I bought a stock is no longer valid. I sell if market timing signals make me want to raise cash.
