| Dell has a reputation for commoditizing everything it touches: PCs, notebooks in the past and servers, handhelds next. Delldrives out competitors, pushing down margins to the point where only they can survive and make money. Is this going to drive their success? Or, will price gauging potentially erode their margins, as well? |

Dell is quite possibly the best long term buy and hold tech stock in the market. It repeatedly displays best practices in business, technology, investing. Best positioning for future exploitation of markets inside and outside US. Easily a long term buy on weakness and hold for the future. I own it. I have owned it. And I'll always buy it if it drops below $20.00. I would consider a post recovery trading value some where in the mid-$40 range. |

I, too, can see DELL at $40, but then it would be a major short. Buy and hold Dell? Never. It's a 10%-15% grower (at best) and has a p/e of 40.
Trade Dell, yes. Long term invest in Dell, no way - far too expensive, until it falls to around $10, which I see in its not-too-distant future. |

| Dell is on my shopping list, but it really hasn't gone on sale yet. I thought it was too expensive at 16 and change and think it is way too expensive in the mid twenties. I would be a buyer if the price was cut in half. |

Unfortunately, I agree that it's overpriced. I say "unfortunately", since my girlfriend owns several hundred shares that I can't seem to talk her into parting with. Her reasoning: "But I bought it at forty dollars. I'm going to wait until it goes back up."
Ah, well... c'est la vie. |

Dell NOW. As almost all stocks. Even housing? Housing I m not sure, but DEll..why not?
But wildmaps post still holds...I wouldnt want to be a long term investor in Dell.
But I love their computers. Simple, functional, robust. Like the company
I m rather lamenting about rave japanese quality. Where were the times you could blindly trust SNE, TM....? Now decadency abound, Western egoism is chipping away from Confutia..iism...nism..whatever.
Soon Japan will be down to the same morast we re living in...what a joy. |

Rollins left.
Mikey is back at the helm.
The stock should be back to 40 by November 17, 2007 :) |
