Three months left in the year and you've been given $10000 to buy one stock that you must hold until December 31, 2002.
What would you buy?
Let's see which sectors seem to be the most popular and who has the best individual stock pick. |

| Does the stock have to be on a major American exchange? Or does it matter? And is there a restriction in regards to the stock price or market cap? |

| Put me down for Echelon Corp (ELON) at 9.49 -- today's close. This stock has been beaten down to unreasonable levels. The company has no debt and rising earnings -- a great value at these levels. |

For ease of tracking lets say the stock has to be on the NYSE, NASDAQ or American Stock Exchange and it has to trade over $5.00/share.
Sorry you Penny Stock fanatics!! |

| If you forced me to spend a whole three months with a single stock and not be able to get out, I'd have to go with safety: SPH. Suburban Propane Partners. Highly recession-resistant, large and increasing dividend. |

I will pick LUX
and this is exactly what I will do in my real portfolio when the chart will tell me that is the time.
Let's precise that it has a small gap still to close at $12.80 and an old one at around $8.80.
I will take the risk that even if both will be closed, I strongly believe that for December 31st LUX will be kissing $ 20,00 area.

| I'll play the hope that video gaming will be strong into the holidays. Parents can do without the new clothes, but they can't take the joysticks out of the kids hands. My pick is the horribly depressed NVDA. |
