I've put together a list of disqualified stocks, but it's FAR too long to post here: 1885 tickers. M* requires that the stocks trade over 25Kshares/day, and be priced at over $1. Some that were really close-but-not-quite on one parameter or the other, while amply in compliance on the other, I've tried to make a case for. What I mean is.... if one stock trades 1000 shares a day, and another trades 10,000,000, most people would say that the 1000 share/day stock is less liquid. But if the 1000 share/day stock was BRK-A, and the 10,000,000 share a day stock was LU... then BRK-A would actually cause well over three times as much money to change hands each day. Some of you may be aware that Chris put a shout out on the M100 forum board calling for some help looking up data for some of the un-M-listed tickers. Sef1968 and I jumped on it. Sef uses some software magic voodoo that's over my head to extract the necessary data from different web resources, while I hafta just plug away with Excel and looking up the data ticker by ticker. My understanding is, once Chris gets both of our lists, he's going to compare the data... ticker by ticker... and where the two lists agree, he'll add the stocks right in, and where they disagree he'll investigate further. Just a quick note on the other side of the coin. I bought 2400 shares of Arcadis N.V. here at Marketocracy on Aug. 13, 2002 at $8.63 per share. Don't know why it went through then....but now I cannot sell it....and it just crossed over the 300% return and is now at $34.56. I have no desire to sell it....LOL.....and it is not tabulated in my graph of returns and screws up my daily return total. Have asked to have it fixed but realize it isn't going to happen so I just watch it go up. Symbol ARCAF.

I believe marketocracy has incorrect data for GBND (should now be ABD), ABG should be Ashbury Automotive Group Inc., and AHCI (Allied Healthcare International Inc.) is now being listed as TWHR. In the first case a merger occured late last summer. In the second case marketocracy appears to be confusing Ashbury with a now defunct ADR. In the last case AHCI appears to be a valid symbol but marketocracy has changed it to a new symbol but I can find no news indicating this is correct.

I have 3 shares (18% of fund) of BRK.A in one of my funds, and the fund is compliant. BRK.A has an average volume of under 300 shares/day. So, I don't think Marketocracy has a 25k shares/day listing requirement.

M* does list 25K shares/day as a requirement for listing, but BRK.A has attributes that make it a little bit more liquid than your average 'thinly' traded stock. Another way of looking at the issue would be to consider the daily DOLLAR volume of the stock... that is, what's the dollar value of the average number of shares traded? At today's close of $87,100, and using Yahoo.com's figure of 290 as the average daily volume, it calculates that the average daily dollar volume of the stock is $25,259,000. That's more money changing hands on an average day than 10 of the NAZ100 stocks traded today, (DISCA, LNCR, LBTYA, CTAS, APCC, FAST, PETM, DISH, CMVT, CHIR) and I don't think anyone would refer to any of them as illiquid. But by the letter of the rule, yes, you're right... BRK-A shouldn't qualify. Thankfully the powers-that-be temper their requirements with a bit of forethought & common sense. Sometimes the letter of the law just doesn't MAKE sense.

Are we talking abut listing, or compliance? The same fund that is 18% in BRK.A, also holds ANAT (3k shares/day), SPDE (17k shares/day), RNHDA (12k shares/day), and ASI (10k shares/day).

I don't think shares traded per day matters as far as compliance goes... AHCI is changed in TWHR but it's wrong. AHCI regular trade at nasdaq exchange. I signal this error at helpdesk 20 days ago but now still incorrect.... AHCI/TWHR difference $4.58/$ 0.05 !!(-99%)
